MEDICAL FOOT CARE DURING PREGNANCY

Feet during pregnancy need more care than ever before. Pregnancy causes many changes in a woman's body. Many women experience similar problems during pregnancy. One of them is underrated foot pain. During this period, there is a change in gait caused by natural weight gain and the standing position changes. Different positions can cause problems as they create more weight and pressure than normal in the knees and feet.

Heel pain and sole pain are the most common foot problems. Many women may experience leg cramps and varicose veins due to weight gain. There is also an increase in calluses and ingrown nails. Therefore, more information about foot care and health during pregnancy should be learned to make these nine months more comfortable.

What to do

Wear comfortable shoes. Choose models with flexible soles and suspension that will support your feet.
Always lift your feet when sitting. Don't stay still while standing, be on the move.
Choose shoes that match your foot size. Pointed-toed, high-heeled shoes will compress your feet and affect your blood circulation. It can also cause calluses and ingrown nails by pinching your fingers.
During pregnancy, your feet can enlarge (lengthen and expand if they swell and the soles collapse). Considering this, when you buy your shoes, have your feet measured or get the most comfortable one.
Note: Do not buy big shoes for comfort! Your feet will float in the big shoe and other problems may arise.

Wear insoles, it will reduce your foot pain.
Wear seamless socks. The swollen skin of the feet can become tender, which can cause calluses.
Make sure that the elastics of your socks are loose, they affect your blood circulation.
Massage your feet with a deep moisturizing cream every night.
